Saturday April 30th

The first event is on the Missouri River south of Mandan. We will be fishing out of Sugarloaf Recreation area. $200 per team entry fee gets you a chance for $2,500 guaranteed first place money. This is a two or 3 person tourney, weigh your best five. You don’t need me to explain how good spring fishing is on the Missouri.

Saturday July 16th

The second event is out of 6 Mile Bay, Devils Lake. If you have a style of fishing you insist on, Devils Lake will more than accommodate. Pitching jigs or cranks, pulling cranks, slip bobbers, lindys, spinners, Devils Lake is user friendly.

These tournaments are limited so sign up now. Your early entry will guarantee your place.

 Fishing Quest~Devils Lake, ND

Saturday Sept 3, 2011

Life changing is how I describe Fishing Quest; a one day event coming up Saturday Sept 3rd. Fishing Quest is tied to ND Fishing Challenge which holds walleye tournaments across the state in support of ND Teen Challenge of Mandan. The Mandan center runs a recovery program for those struggling with addictions.

The event’s goal is to put every Teen Challenge student in a boat for a day of fishing on Devils Lake. In order to do this we need 20 volunteer fishermen with boats. Each volunteer boat will be required to have bait, tackle and lifejackets for two students. Fish anywhere you like and try to come in with a mess of fish for the evening fish fry.

We will meet at Lakewood Park Bible Camp at 7:30 am for breakfast. At that time you will be assigned a couple of students and then you’re off fishing for the day. Students will have their own lunch but if you could provide a cooler it would be helpful. Be back with your fish cleaned no later than 5.

We end the daylong event with a 5:30 fish fry and the satisfaction of knowing we gave more than our time on the water. We communicated an “I believe in you” concern that just might make the difference for those hoping to make their first year clean and sober.

If interested in volunteering please contact Greg Schoneck. Greg can be reached at 701-720-0447 or email him at gregisfishing@srt.com .
